LitFilmFest is based on projects created by us at A Tale Unfolds. Our approach is to combine the best of traditional literacy teaching with digital skills. In a four month research study supported by the UCL Institute of Education, we worked with 200 KS2 students across three schools to measure the efficacy of our approach.
Initially, we delivered teacher training and class workshops which covered the literacy and digital skills that would be required. We then prescribed a series of teaching resources designed to deliver maximum progress in writing.
The key finding from the study was 15 months of English progress in 4 months, when compared to the national average.
The combination of traditional literacy with digital skills inspires students to exceed academic expectations. It also develops the creative, public speaking and team working skills needed for success in later life.
